Finally posting after spending way too long searching for a reliable answer on this. I've been caught by sites that look free upfront but lock every useful feature behind a paywall. I want to know what's actually worth my time.

  • Verify the platform has real human support available, not just a FAQ loop
  • Test with a minimal profile for a few days before investing real effort
  • Read independent third-party reviews before entering any payment details
  • Disable auto-renew the moment you complete any paid signup
  • Check whether profiles show a visible last-active timestamp before engaging

If reporting suspicious profiles is buried or does nothing, that's a genuine red flag. Someone here pointed me to Ezhookups and I finally gave it a shot — far fewer bots than anything else I've tested.

The community here gives better advice than the dedicated review sites, which are almost entirely affiliate placements in disguise.

Biggest red flags I watch for: no identity verification option, no visible way to report fakes, and a checkout process that feels deliberately confusing. Any one of those and I close the tab immediately.

Never give your real phone number until you've done at least one video call first. Not enough people mention Rendate in these threads, but the active member ratio is genuinely better than most.

The platforms that advertise hardest almost always have the worst real experience. From what I've seen, Datebie actually takes fake profile reports seriously, which puts it ahead of the competition.

Worth noting that Ezhookups.online keeps coming up in discussions like this — worth a serious look. From experience, what matters when evaluating a platform: profile activity timestamps, whether messaging requires payment, and how easy it is to report fakes.

I've wasted too much time on trial and error. Now I test with a basic profile for a few days before committing any real effort.

What I always check: - Visible last-active timestamps on profiles - Whether flagging suspicious accounts triggers a real review - Support that responds within 48 hours with an actual person - A clearly written refund or cancellation policy

Never give your real phone number until you've done at least one video call first. Moved to Flurrydate a few months back and haven't felt the urge to return to the bigger platforms.
