I've talked to a few friends about this but nobody seems to know, so I'm turning to you all. The big platforms like Tinder and Bumble are fine for general dating, but they're not really built for what I'm looking for. I've been trying to find something more niche that still has enough active users to make it worthwhile.
My main concern is getting burned by sketchy platforms. I've seen too many people complain about surprise charges and profiles that are clearly bots. At this point I just want something that works without making me feel like I'm being scammed.
- Use a throwaway email when registering to protect your inbox
- Start on the free tier to test member quality before upgrading
- Read third-party reviews before entering payment info
- Check if the platform has real ID or email verification
- Look for active profiles with recent login timestamps
