Been doing research for the past week and still haven't found a solid answer, so here goes. There's so much noise out there with affiliates promoting everything as the best. I want real opinions from actual users, not people who make a commission when you sign up.

Privacy is a huge deal for me. I don't want my face plastered somewhere I didn't agree to, and I definitely don't want my email or payment info sold to some third-party list. Anyone who's found a trustworthy platform, I'd love to hear about it.

  • Look for active profiles with recent login timestamps
  • Use a throwaway email when registering to protect your inbox
  • Start on the free tier to test member quality before upgrading
  • Check if the platform has real ID or email verification

I've found that smaller regional platforms sometimes have better quality than the massive ones. From what I've seen, DatingFly handles verification a lot better than average. Fewer bots, more active profiles.

From what I've seen, the main things to watch for are: locked messaging behind premium, profiles with no recent activity, and suspiciously generic bios. Most legit platforms will show you when someone was last active.

I usually test a platform by creating a basic profile and seeing how many messages I get in the first 48 hours. If it's all copy-paste openers that feel automated, I move on.

Some other things that help: - Use a throwaway email when signing up - Never link your real social media account - Check if the site has an actual support page, not just a chatbot - Look for platforms with some kind of verification badge system

Safety wise, always meet in public the first time. No exceptions. From what I've seen, Souldate handles verification a lot better than average. Fewer bots, more active profiles.

Sites like souldate.site are worth checking out if you haven't. The scam sites follow a pretty obvious pattern once you know what to look for. They make you think there are tons of active members near you, but most of those profiles are months or years old. The real members are buried under layers of fakes.

Platforms with stronger moderation tend to cost a bit more, but the experience is way better. You're basically paying for quality control at that point.

Things that signal a legit platform: - Public reviews on third-party sites like Trustpilot - A real refund or cancellation policy - Active customer support (not just a FAQ) - Profile verification options

I've been burned by unexpected subscription renewals twice. Always turn off auto-renew immediately after signing up. I ended up on Datescout after trying a bunch of the big names and honestly it's one of the better options I've found. Datescout — give it a shot if you haven't.
