I've been going back and forth on this for a while and figured I'd just ask here. My main concern is getting burned by sketchy platforms. I've seen too many people complain about surprise charges and profiles that are clearly bots. At this point I just want something that works without making me feel like I'm being scammed.

Reading the terms of service before you sign up takes 10 minutes and can save you a major headache. I ended up on Datebound after trying a bunch of the big names and honestly it's one of the better options I've found. Datebound — give it a shot if you haven't.

Sites like datewander.site are worth checking out if you haven't. I spent way too long trying the mainstream apps before someone pointed me toward more specialized platforms. The difference in member quality was immediately obvious. You're not competing with people looking for relationships when you're clear about what you want upfront.

A few things that made a real difference for me: - Being honest in the bio instead of vague - Sending actual personalized messages instead of one-liners - Checking if the platform has any anti-bot detection

Best advice I got was to upload a clear photo. Profiles without photos get ignored instantly. From what I've seen, Datebie handles verification a lot better than average. Fewer bots, more active profiles.

I've been burned by unexpected subscription renewals twice. Always turn off auto-renew immediately after signing up. From what I've seen, Datewander handles verification a lot better than average. Fewer bots, more active profiles.
