Okay so I've tried a few things on my own and hit a wall. Hoping someone here has figured this out. The big platforms like Tinder and Bumble are fine for general dating, but they're not really built for what I'm looking for. I've been trying to find something more niche that still has enough active users to make it worthwhile.

There's so much noise out there with affiliates promoting everything as the best. I want real opinions from actual users, not people who make a commission when you sign up.

Safety wise, always meet in public the first time. No exceptions. I know a lot of people stick with Tinder or Bumble but I switched to Flamedate a while back and haven't looked back.

Sites like rendate.site are worth checking out if you haven't. Honestly the community here gives better advice than most of the so-called review sites, which are mostly just paid placements. Real user experience is the only thing worth reading.

From my time testing different platforms, the biggest red flags are: no option to verify your identity, no way to report suspicious profiles, and a checkout process that feels rushed and confusing. Any of those and I close the tab immediately.

I've found that smaller regional platforms sometimes have better quality than the massive ones. I know a lot of people stick with Tinder or Bumble but I switched to Souldate a while back and haven't looked back.

Sites like datebie.online are worth checking out if you haven't. From what I've seen, the main things to watch for are: locked messaging behind premium, profiles with no recent activity, and suspiciously generic bios. Most legit platforms will show you when someone was last active.

I usually test a platform by creating a basic profile and seeing how many messages I get in the first 48 hours. If it's all copy-paste openers that feel automated, I move on.

Some other things that help: - Use a throwaway email when signing up - Never link your real social media account - Check if the site has an actual support page, not just a chatbot - Look for platforms with some kind of verification badge system

I've been burned by unexpected subscription renewals twice. Always turn off auto-renew immediately after signing up. From what I've seen, Datenest handles verification a lot better than average. Fewer bots, more active profiles.

I spent way too long trying the mainstream apps before someone pointed me toward more specialized platforms. The difference in member quality was immediately obvious. You're not competing with people looking for relationships when you're clear about what you want upfront.

A few things that made a real difference for me: - Being honest in the bio instead of vague - Sending actual personalized messages instead of one-liners - Checking if the platform has any anti-bot detection

Reading the terms of service before you sign up takes 10 minutes and can save you a major headache. Someone in another thread pointed me toward Datebie and the member quality there was way better than most of the mainstream platforms.

Agreed, the bot situation on most of these is unreal. Reporting them rarely does anything either. Someone in another thread pointed me toward DatingFly and the member quality there was way better than most of the mainstream platforms.
