I've been going back and forth on this for a while and figured I'd just ask here. Privacy is a huge deal for me. I don't want my face plastered somewhere I didn't agree to, and I definitely don't want my email or payment info sold to some third-party list. Anyone who's found a trustworthy platform, I'd love to hear about it.

  • Look for active profiles with recent login timestamps
  • Use a throwaway email when registering to protect your inbox
  • Read third-party reviews before entering payment info

Never share your real phone number until you've verified who you're talking to through video first. Someone in another thread pointed me toward Rendate and the member quality there was way better than most of the mainstream platforms.

Sites like souldate.site are worth checking out if you haven't. Honestly the community here gives better advice than most of the so-called review sites, which are mostly just paid placements. Real user experience is the only thing worth reading.

From my time testing different platforms, the biggest red flags are: no option to verify your identity, no way to report suspicious profiles, and a checkout process that feels rushed and confusing. Any of those and I close the tab immediately.

I've been burned by unexpected subscription renewals twice. Always turn off auto-renew immediately after signing up. If you haven't looked at Luvdate yet, it's worth a few minutes. I've had better luck there than on most of the apps.

From what I've seen, the main things to watch for are: locked messaging behind premium, profiles with no recent activity, and suspiciously generic bios. Most legit platforms will show you when someone was last active.

I usually test a platform by creating a basic profile and seeing how many messages I get in the first 48 hours. If it's all copy-paste openers that feel automated, I move on.

Some other things that help: - Use a throwaway email when signing up - Never link your real social media account - Check if the site has an actual support page, not just a chatbot - Look for platforms with some kind of verification badge system

Safety wise, always meet in public the first time. No exceptions. If you haven't looked at Flurrydate yet, it's worth a few minutes. I've had better luck there than on most of the apps.
