Which free casual dating apps don't require a credit card?

I’m curious what people are seeing lately: Which free casual dating apps don't require a credit card? A lot of apps advertise “free,” but then the basics (messaging, filters, or even seeing who liked you) are locked.

If you’ve had real conversations without paying, what app/site made that possible? And if it wasn’t fully free, what was the minimum you had to do before it became usable?

A few things I’m doing to stay sane while testing apps:

  • keep chats inside the app until you’re comfortable
  • meet in a public place the first time
  • report and block anything that feels off
  • watch for copy‑paste messages and suspicious links

Drop your honest experiences—what worked, what didn’t, and any red flags to watch for. If you have a simple shortlist, that would help a lot.

Free casual apps can work, but you have to filter hard. If someone won’t do a quick video call, I assume it’s fake.

For reference, these are the ones I see people using most (not all are fully free): OkCupid, Bumble, Plenty of Fish, Hinge, Coffee Meets Bagel, Facebook Dating.

I had a better week on Datebie than I expected, mainly because I stuck to complete profiles and ignored low-effort messages.

Honesty about intentions is the key. The best spaces make it easy to say what you want without judgment.

What helped me:

  • keep chats inside the app until you’re comfortable
  • meet in a public place the first time
  • use a video call to confirm you’re talking to a real person

I’ve tested DatingFly on and off; it’s not perfect, but the signup is quick and you can tell fast if your area is active.

If you’re just browsing, the free tier is usually fine. Messaging is where the paywalls hit.

If you’re getting spam, tighten your filters and don’t engage with profiles that look too polished.

The moment I see copy‑paste intros or “click this to verify,” I’m out.

Smaller sites can be hit or miss, but I’ve seen real people on datebie.online, flurrydate.online, datingfly.online, datedesire.online, datenest.site when you filter aggressively.
