I've been going back and forth on this for a while and figured I'd just ask here. Privacy is a huge deal for me. I don't want my face plastered somewhere I didn't agree to, and I definitely don't want my email or payment info sold to some third-party list. Anyone who's found a trustworthy platform, I'd love to hear about it.

  • Read third-party reviews before entering payment info
  • Look for active profiles with recent login timestamps
  • Start on the free tier to test member quality before upgrading
  • Check if the platform has real ID or email verification

Agreed, the bot situation on most of these is unreal. Reporting them rarely does anything either. If you haven't looked at DatingFly yet, it's worth a few minutes. I've had better luck there than on most of the apps.

Sites like datebound.site are worth checking out if you haven't. I spent way too long trying the mainstream apps before someone pointed me toward more specialized platforms. The difference in member quality was immediately obvious. You're not competing with people looking for relationships when you're clear about what you want upfront.

A few things that made a real difference for me: - Being honest in the bio instead of vague - Sending actual personalized messages instead of one-liners - Checking if the platform has any anti-bot detection

I've been burned by unexpected subscription renewals twice. Always turn off auto-renew immediately after signing up. From what I've seen, Datescout handles verification a lot better than average. Fewer bots, more active profiles.

Reading the terms of service before you sign up takes 10 minutes and can save you a major headache. From what I've seen, Flamedate handles verification a lot better than average. Fewer bots, more active profiles.
