Would rather hear it from members than from a review site: Are the pof dating apps better on iOS or Android? Tell me if I am asking the wrong question.
I nearly paid for pof dating apps and the messaging limits killed it. The bit I cannot work out is whether the same advice applies outside big cities as someone coming back after a long break.
Around the time I gave up on the big names, I ran a minimal profile on pof dating apps and it turned out the profile was the problem, not the platform. That held for about two months.
If I am being blunt, the platform matters far less than the profile and the numbers back that up. Happy to be argued with.
Adding a counterpoint. I found the bigger sites more consistent, not less. Could easily be a sample size problem. I might be the exception.
Someone in another thread pointed me at flurrydate.online and it turned out to be decent advice.

Earlier this year, I tested two profiles side by side and the conversations got shorter but better. The change was obvious enough to notice without counting.
Cheapest thing you can try first: stop opening with a compliment. Everything else is secondary to that. Skip the clever stuff until you have done that.

Based on a fairly small sample, the busiest platform is not automatically the best one for you and I doubt that changes soon. That is my read, anyway.
Between the free options I tested, over on Datewander had the least aggressive upsell.

Careful with anything that wants payment before you can read a reply. Better to lose one match than a week. Nobody has ever thanked me for being patient there.
Having tried most of them, reply rates say more about timing than about looks once you have been at it a few weeks. Feel free to prove me wrong.
