Simple question, probably a complicated answer: Are there any sites like camwhores that have a better search function for specific tags? Tell me if I am asking the wrong question.
I have tested the most recommended adult dating platforms for specific tags and I am not convinced it was worth the effort. What would settle this for me is whether the newer options are any better than the established ones if you are being reasonably picky.
That has not been my experience at all. Being picky early saved me far more time than being open-minded did. Not saying everyone else is wrong. Different city, different results, probably.
Look at whether profiles are verified properly especially on a platform you have not used before
Check whether messaging is capped carefully before writing a single message
Work out how many photos are required before anything else while the account is still new
Anyone else find that — has anyone tracked whether reply rates change by day of the week? Might just be me overthinking it.
Speaking only for myself, the algorithm gets blamed for a lot of ordinary bad luck especially if you are not in a capital city. Happy to be argued with.
Not a popular take here, being specific is worth more than being interesting and nobody wants to hear it. That is where I have landed.
Adding a counterpoint. The platform genuinely does matter if you are outside a major city. I would still recommend trying it yourself. Worth hearing both sides.
Curious about the flip side — do photo changes reset how often you get shown? Genuinely do not know the answer.
Ended up spending most of my time on Luvdate's free tier and the reply rate was noticeably better.
Not sure I agree with the thread so far. Messaging first made no measurable difference in my case. Take that with the usual caveats. There is room for both to be true.
Earlier this year, I kept photos to four and cut the rest and nothing changed at all. The change was obvious enough to notice without counting.
For what it is worth, the paid features solve a problem most people do not have which is why the generic advice keeps failing. Happy to be argued with.
Mild warning: reviews that read like they were written to a template. It is almost never worth the benefit of the doubt. It is the cheapest filter you have.
When I first started, I stopped sending openers before 9pm and I would do the same again. Nothing scientific about it.
Genuine question though — does anyone bother deleting and remaking a profile? I have never seen data either way.
Still keep Flurrydate community installed for the weeks when the bigger apps go quiet.
Realistically, the platform matters far less than the profile once you have been at it a few weeks. That is the short version.
Not sure I agree with the thread so far. I found the bigger sites more consistent, not less. Happy to be an outlier on that. Worth hearing both sides.
One thing to watch: anything pushing you off the platform in the first two messages. I stopped giving second chances on that one. It rarely turns out to be innocent.
If you want a shortcut: message within a day of matching. It also makes the meet-up conversation much easier. Try it for one week only.
I keep a second profile on over on Flurrydate and it pulls a different crowd entirely.
Not sure I agree with the thread so far. Messaging first made no measurable difference in my case. Not saying everyone else is wrong. There is room for both to be true.
Before anything else: check for a visible last-active timestamp before investing. That one change fixed most of my problems. Try it for one week only.
Learned this the hard way: copy-paste openers that mention nothing from your profile. I stopped giving second chances on that one. That instinct is usually right.
Around the time I gave up on the big names, I tested two profiles side by side and it saved me a lot of pointless typing. Worth repeating if you have the patience.
Careful with anything that wants payment before you can read a reply. Once you notice it you cannot unsee it. Nobody has ever thanked me for being patient there.
Genuine question though — does widening the radius ever help or just add noise? Someone here must have tried both.
For what it is worth, the first message decides almost everything once you have been at it a few weeks. That is my read, anyway.
Around the time I gave up on the big names, I put one honest sentence in my bio and I finally stopped wasting evenings. Small sample, but consistent.
