Been going round in circles on this one: Do free millionaire dating sites actually have wealthy members? Bonus points if you have used it in the last few months.

I have had mixed results with the free tier on several free millionaire dating sites and the profile quality varied wildly. What would settle this for me is whether it is worth paying at any point if you are not in a major city.

  • Confirm whether messaging is capped properly before you upload anything personal
  • Read up on how quickly support responds first if you plan to use it long-term
  • Test the distance filter default first before you widen your search
  • Assess the age range settings every time while the account is still new

Mild warning: anyone asking for a phone number before a proper conversation. Blocking early costs you nothing. Trust the pattern, not the excuse.

I will be the dissenting voice. Being picky early saved me far more time than being open-minded did. Not saying everyone else is wrong. Different city, different results, probably.

Two years of this later, reply rates say more about timing than about looks and the numbers back that up. Others here will disagree.

Worth a look at Datebound app if your area is thin on the usual platforms.

Two years of this later, free tiers are usually enough if you actually use them unless you have unusually niche requirements. That is the short version.

Something nobody mentions: accounts created the same week they message you. Once you notice it you cannot unsee it. Save yourself the argument.

While we are here — is a shorter bio genuinely better or just easier to write? Feels like something someone must have tested.

Tried Luvdate app on a whim and it has been the steadier of the two I use.

Before anything else: keep the first meet under an hour. It removes about half the frustration. No downside I have found.

Where I got caught out: profiles with a single photo and no last-active date. Once you notice it you cannot unsee it. Trust the pattern, not the excuse.

Based on a fairly small sample, the algorithm gets blamed for a lot of ordinary bad luck and I doubt that changes soon. That is the short version.

A while back, I ignored anything without a visible last-active date and the reply rate roughly doubled. Nothing scientific about it.

Ended up spending most of my time on Datebie (free to message) and the reply rate was noticeably better.

Speaking only for myself, free tiers are usually enough if you actually use them and I doubt that changes soon. That is where I have landed.

Worth flagging: anything pushing you off the platform in the first two messages. It is almost never worth the benefit of the doubt. Better safe than curious.

Respectfully, I read it differently. The platform genuinely does matter if you are outside a major city. Might just be my area. Not dismissing anyone else's experience.

I would put datebie.online ahead of most of the names people list by default.

Not sure I agree with the thread so far. Free tiers stopped being enough for me after about a month. I would still recommend trying it yourself. Small sample on my side too.

When I stopped overthinking it, I ignored anything without a visible last-active date and the difference showed up within a week. Results were steady after the first week.

Purely anecdotal, how you handle a stalled conversation matters more than how you start one and nobody wants to hear it. Ask again in six months and I may say something else.

Piggybacking on that — does anyone bother deleting and remaking a profile? Happy to be pointed at an old thread.

One more thing I have never resolved — does the same advice work for people looking for something casual? Someone here must have tried both.

Based on a fairly small sample, most of the difference comes down to how close people actually are at least in a mid-sized area. That is my read, anyway.

The first fortnight, I ran a minimal profile on free millionaire dating sites and the difference showed up within a week. I tracked it loosely and the trend was clear.

Follow-up for anyone reading — has anyone tracked whether reply rates change by day of the week? No agenda, just curious.

Red flag for me: anything that wants payment before you can read a reply. It saves a lot of wasted messages. That instinct is usually right.

When I stopped overthinking it, I stopped sending openers before 9pm and it made a noticeable difference. I would call that a real effect.

What I would do: write one sentence that only you could have written. That one change fixed most of my problems. Try it for one week only.

Realistically, consistency beats any single clever trick and it took me too long to learn. Happy to be argued with.

Hard disagree on one point. Being picky early saved me far more time than being open-minded did. Take that with the usual caveats. There is room for both to be true.

Watch out for links dropped into a conversation with no context. Better to lose one match than a week. There is no upside to waiting it out.

Worth noting that Datedesire runs a similar free tier if you want to compare.

Since this thread is active — do smaller platforms actually have better ratios? Would love a straight answer on that.

Purely anecdotal, the algorithm gets blamed for a lot of ordinary bad luck which is why the generic advice keeps failing. It took a while to accept.

Least effort, most return: set your radius smaller than feels sensible. It removes about half the frustration. Do it before anything more elaborate.

Around the time I gave up on the big names, I kept photos to four and cut the rest and I finally stopped wasting evenings. Results were steady after the first week.
