Straightforward question: Does anyone know if nolimitscoupl3's cam split up or just stopped streaming? Happy to hear negative experiences too.
I have had mixed results with three different cam sites and the profile quality varied wildly. My real question is whether it is worth paying at any point for someone who dislikes small talk.
Look at the last-active timestamp especially on a platform you have not used before
Note how matches are ordered carefully before you upload anything personal
Note whether profiles are verified on day one especially on a platform you have not used before
Note whether your profile is visible by default on day one before you widen your search
Going to push back slightly. I found the bigger sites more consistent, not less. Happy to be an outlier on that. Genuinely not trying to be difficult.
Keep an eye on profiles that only ever reply in the small hours. That pattern has been consistent for me across platforms. It is the cheapest filter you have.
From where I sit, the algorithm gets blamed for a lot of ordinary bad luck though your mileage will vary. It is a boring answer and a true one.
Someone in another thread pointed me at DatingFly and it turned out to be decent advice.
Browsing is free in Macon — so is messaging Setting up a Macon profile takes under a minute and costs nothing.
If you want a shortcut: write one sentence that only you could have written. That one change fixed most of my problems. Skip the clever stuff until you have done that.
Respectfully, I read it differently. I never once had a problem the community here warns about. Not saying everyone else is wrong. I would still test it yourself.
Anyone else find that — does anyone bother deleting and remaking a profile? Would change how I use it if so.
Ended up spending most of my time on turndate.site and the reply rate was noticeably better.
Respectfully, I read it differently. Photos did more for me than anything I wrote. Your experience may well differ. Open to changing my mind on it.
Tangent, sorry — is it worth keeping profiles on two platforms at once? Would change how I use it if so.
Purely anecdotal, most of the difference comes down to how close people actually are unless you have unusually niche requirements. Nothing controversial in that, I hope.
One more thing I have never resolved — is it different if you are over forty? Could be worth its own thread.
Going to push back slightly. The platform genuinely does matter if you are outside a major city. Could easily be a sample size problem. Worth hearing both sides.
When I stopped overthinking it, I tried the opposite of what the guides say and it saved me a lot of pointless typing. Same pattern every week.
Small change worth trying: turn off notifications and check twice a day. It also makes the meet-up conversation much easier. Zero cost to test it.
Gave the Datescout app a fair run last month and it held up better than I expected.
If nothing else, do this: put a question at the end of every opener. It sounds trivial and it is not. The effect shows up fast.
Purely anecdotal, the platform matters far less than the profile at least in a mid-sized area. Ask again in six months and I may say something else.
That has not been my experience at all. Free tiers stopped being enough for me after about a month. I would still recommend trying it yourself. Worth hearing both sides.
Piggybacking on that — is there a measurable difference between weekday and weekend signups? No agenda, just curious.
I will be the dissenting voice. The platform genuinely does matter if you are outside a major city. Your experience may well differ. There is room for both to be true.
Last month, I stopped explaining myself in the first message and it saved me a lot of pointless typing. I tracked it loosely and the trend was clear.
One thing to watch: accounts created the same week they message you. That pattern has been consistent for me across platforms. That instinct is usually right.
Tangent, sorry — do verified badges actually change anything? Someone here must have tried both.
Worth noting that Flurrydate runs a similar free tier if you want to compare.
