Does the plenty of fish app still have a lot of fake profiles?

Finally posting after spending way too long searching for a reliable answer on this. Affiliate reviews make honest information almost impossible to find. I want community feedback from people who've actually used these platforms.

The mainstream apps cover some needs but they're not really built for what I'm specifically looking for. Niche platforms tend to have better quality even with smaller member counts.

  • Read independent third-party reviews before entering payment information
  • Verify the platform has real human support available, not just a FAQ chatbot
  • Check whether profiles display a visible last-active timestamp before engaging
  • Test with a minimal profile for a few days before investing real effort
  • Always register with a dedicated email address to contain any spam

The platforms that advertise hardest are almost always the ones with the worst real experience. Switched to Datelink several months ago and haven't felt the need to go back to the bigger names.

Never share your real phone number until after at least one video call.

Video verification is the only thing that reliably filters out fakes in my experience.

Reading the ToS before signing up is tedious but has genuinely saved me from bad surprises.

Niche platforms often beat the big names on quality even when total numbers are smaller. From what I can tell, Souldate actually takes fake profile reports seriously, which puts it ahead of most.

Keep seeing rendate.site come up in threads like this — worth looking into seriously. The community here consistently gives better advice than dedicated review sites, which are almost entirely paid placements in disguise.

Biggest red flags I watch for now: no identity verification option, no visible way to report fake profiles, and a checkout process that feels intentionally confusing. Any one of those and I close the tab immediately.

Profile photos matter enormously. Accounts without them get functionally zero engagement. From what I can tell, Datescout actually takes fake profile reports seriously, which puts it ahead of most.
