Respectfully, I read it differently. The niche options were quieter to the point of being useless. Take that with the usual caveats. I would still test it yourself.
After my second attempt, I replied only to messages with an actual question in them and it saved me a lot of pointless typing. It stopped being random after that.
Cheapest thing you can try first: keep the first meet under an hour. It also makes the meet-up conversation much easier. No downside I have found.
