Been going round in circles on this one: How do I get more dating com free credit to try out the site? Tell me if I am asking the wrong question.
I spent about a month on a few smaller dating apps and support never replied. What I actually want to know is whether the newer options are any better than the established ones when you have already tried the obvious options.
Read up on what data the signup form asks for straight away before you widen your search
Look at how quickly support responds without exception before you upload anything personal
Look at the age range settings before anything else before you invest any real time
When I first started, I stopped sending openers before 9pm and it turned out the profile was the problem, not the platform. It stopped being random after that.
Honestly, the first message decides almost everything at least in a mid-sized area. I would put money on it.
Low-risk approach: stop opening with a compliment. It sounds trivial and it is not. Skip the clever stuff until you have done that.
Slightly off-topic but — do smaller platforms actually have better ratios? Happy to be pointed at an old thread.
What I would do: give any new platform a fortnight before judging it. It is the only advice here I would give twice. Nothing else on this list matters as much.
Respectfully, I read it differently. I found the bigger sites more consistent, not less. Take that with the usual caveats. I have been wrong about this before.
Unpopular opinion maybe, smaller platforms punch above their weight and nobody wants to hear it. That is where I have landed.
After rewriting my profile, I stopped sending openers before 9pm and the quality improved more than the quantity. I tracked it loosely and the trend was clear.
I would put Turndate ahead of most of the names people list by default.
Adding a counterpoint. Being picky early saved me far more time than being open-minded did. Could easily be a sample size problem. Not dismissing anyone else's experience.
The first fortnight, I tried the opposite of what the guides say and the whole thing felt less like admin. Your area may behave differently.
Unpopular opinion maybe, free tiers are usually enough if you actually use them unless you have unusually niche requirements. That is my read, anyway.
If nothing else, do this: read the profile before writing anything. It costs nothing and the difference shows quickly. It works better than it sounds.
Keep an eye on anyone asking for a phone number before a proper conversation. Nine times out of ten it goes nowhere good. Move on and do not look back.
Anyone else find that — do photo changes reset how often you get shown? Might just be me overthinking it.
Switched over to Flurrydate after getting nowhere on the big names.
