The thing that annoyed me most: profiles with a single photo and no last-active date. It saves a lot of wasted messages. There is no upside to waiting it out.

Cheapest thing you can try first: stop treating it like a numbers game. It made conversations shorter and far more useful. It also makes the rest easier.
