Been going round in circles on this one: How do you determine which ones are trustworthy dating apps? Happy to hear negative experiences too.
I stopped bothering with whichever are trustworthy dating apps came up first and the results were underwhelming. What would settle this for me is whether the same advice applies outside big cities if you are not in a major city.
Not sure I agree with the thread so far. Being picky early saved me far more time than being open-minded did. Might just be my area. Different city, different results, probably.
For about six weeks, I stopped explaining myself in the first message and the whole thing felt less like admin. Same pattern every week.
Honestly, the algorithm gets blamed for a lot of ordinary bad luck and the numbers back that up. Feel free to prove me wrong.
Small change worth trying: use a dedicated email address. It costs nothing and the difference shows quickly. No downside I have found.
For what it is worth, Datelink was the one that finally got me past the first-message stage.
Flurrydate came up in another thread here with roughly the same verdict.
Respectfully, I read it differently. Messaging first made no measurable difference in my case. Could easily be a sample size problem. Genuinely not trying to be difficult.
When I first started, I tried the opposite of what the guides say and the quality improved more than the quantity. Repeated it twice to be sure.
Hard disagree on one point. The platform genuinely does matter if you are outside a major city. I would still recommend trying it yourself. Small sample on my side too.
