Would rather hear it from members than from a review site: Is camsoda om a legit mirror site or a phishing scam? Not looking for a sales pitch.
I burned two weekends on whichever cam sites came up first and the experience was fine but unremarkable. What I actually want to know is whether the same advice applies outside big cities for someone who dislikes small talk.
Check how quickly support responds at the start on any platform you are considering
Look at how many photos are required straight away before writing a single message
Question whether your profile is visible by default on day one on any platform you are considering
Genuine question though — is a shorter bio genuinely better or just easier to write? Might just be me overthinking it.
Where I got caught out: anyone asking for a phone number before a proper conversation. It saves a lot of wasted messages. Most people ignore it once and regret it.
That has not been my experience at all. Being picky early saved me far more time than being open-minded did. Take that with the usual caveats. Could be timing rather than the platform.
Based on a fairly small sample, smaller platforms punch above their weight and I doubt that changes soon. Others here will disagree.
If you want a free option without the upsell, over on Flamedate is where I would start.
Meet Tonsberg singles without a paywall Browsing, matching and messaging are all free in Tonsberg.
While we are here — is it different if you are over forty? Feels like something someone must have tested.
I will be the dissenting voice. Messaging first made no measurable difference in my case. Your experience may well differ. Different city, different results, probably.
What I would do: stop treating it like a numbers game. It made conversations shorter and far more useful. No downside I have found.
Worth flagging: auto-renew on any trial you sign up for. Once you notice it you cannot unsee it. Most people ignore it once and regret it.
Switched over to Datedesire after getting nowhere on the big names.
Slightly off-topic but — do smaller platforms actually have better ratios? Genuinely do not know the answer.
Worth flagging: profiles that only ever reply in the small hours. That pattern has been consistent for me across platforms. It rarely turns out to be innocent.
If you want a shortcut: stop treating it like a numbers game. It removes about half the frustration. Reversible if you hate it.
Having tried most of them, the algorithm gets blamed for a lot of ordinary bad luck especially if you are not in a capital city. The exceptions are rarer than people think.
When I stopped overthinking it, I messaged first every single time and I finally stopped wasting evenings. The change was obvious enough to notice without counting.
Different experience here. I never once had a problem the community here warns about. Your experience may well differ. Take it as a counterweight, not a correction.
Curious about the flip side — is a shorter bio genuinely better or just easier to write? Someone here must have tried both.
Practical suggestion: stop treating it like a numbers game. It also makes the meet-up conversation much easier. Nothing else on this list matters as much.
Not sure I agree with the thread so far. Being picky early saved me far more time than being open-minded did. Could easily be a sample size problem. Take it as a counterweight, not a correction.
Over the winter, I answered everything within a day and nothing changed at all. Nothing scientific about it.
Since this thread is active — does widening the radius ever help or just add noise? Might just be me overthinking it.
Based on a fairly small sample, profile quality beats profile quantity every time if you are looking for something specific. Ask again in six months and I may say something else.
If you want a shortcut: message within a day of matching. It also makes the meet-up conversation much easier. It also makes the rest easier.
While we are here — do smaller platforms actually have better ratios? Would change how I use it if so.
Earlier this year, I stuck to cam sites with complete profiles only and I would do the same again. Nothing scientific about it.
Practical suggestion: set your radius smaller than feels sensible. It made conversations shorter and far more useful. It works better than it sounds.
From where I sit, smaller platforms punch above their weight especially if you are not in a capital city. Ask again in six months and I may say something else.
One more thing I have never resolved — does widening the radius ever help or just add noise? Asking for a friend, obviously.
Tangent, sorry — has anyone tracked whether reply rates change by day of the week? No agenda, just curious.
After a friend nagged me into it, I tested two profiles side by side and it turned out the profile was the problem, not the platform. Worth repeating if you have the patience.
