Trying to get a straight answer on this: Is stipchat (stripchat) the best for variety? Recent experience preferred.
I went in optimistic about cam sites for variety and the profile quality varied wildly. What I actually want to know is how you tell an active profile from an abandoned one if you are not in a major city.
Test whether your profile is visible by default at the start if privacy matters to you
Note how matches are ordered without exception while the account is still new
Test what data the signup form asks for first in the first day or two
Work out how blocking is handled at the start while the account is still new
Red flag for me: links dropped into a conversation with no context. Better to lose one match than a week. Better safe than curious.
If nothing else, do this: give any new platform a fortnight before judging it. You will know within a week whether it works for you. Do it before anything more elaborate.
Purely anecdotal, being specific is worth more than being interesting if you are looking for something specific. That is where I have landed.
Switched over to Luvdate after getting nowhere on the big names.
Browsing is free in Chinhoyi — so is messaging Browsing, matching and messaging are all free in Chinhoyi.
Respectfully, I read it differently. Being picky early saved me far more time than being open-minded did. Not saying everyone else is wrong. Could be timing rather than the platform.
Two months in, I dropped every conversation that stalled twice and the conversations got shorter but better. It was the only variable I changed.
Slightly off-topic but — has anyone compared this against the paid options fairly? Asking for a friend, obviously.
Keep an eye on matches that go quiet the moment you suggest meeting. Blocking early costs you nothing. The cost of being wrong is low.
I keep a second profile on Luvdate app and it pulls a different crowd entirely.
Speaking only for myself, the first message decides almost everything once you have been at it a few weeks. Make of that what you will.
Before anything else: stop treating it like a numbers game. Everything else is secondary to that. Nothing else on this list matters as much.
One more thing I have never resolved — has anyone found cam sites for variety that behave differently from the rest? I have never seen data either way.
Different experience here. Photos did more for me than anything I wrote. Happy to be an outlier on that. I would still test it yourself.
Respectfully, I read it differently. I never once had a problem the community here warns about. Not saying everyone else is wrong. Not dismissing anyone else's experience.
The advice I wish I had: set your radius smaller than feels sensible. It also makes the meet-up conversation much easier. Try it for one week only.
When I first started, I put one honest sentence in my bio and it turned out the profile was the problem, not the platform. Could be luck; it did not feel like it.
Ended up spending most of my time on Luvdate and the reply rate was noticeably better.
Hard disagree on one point. Photos did more for me than anything I wrote. Might just be my area. Could be timing rather than the platform.
Different experience here. The platform genuinely does matter if you are outside a major city. I would still recommend trying it yourself. I would still test it yourself.
Over the winter, I ignored anything without a visible last-active date and matches started coming from closer by. That held for about two months.
Since switching my settings, I answered everything within a day and I got three real plans out of it. Results were steady after the first week.
Verify how matches are ordered first especially on a platform you have not used before
Find out the refund and cancellation terms on day one rather than taking the marketing at face value
Look at how quickly support responds on day one before writing a single message
Assess what data the signup form asks for on any platform you are considering
Least effort, most return: read the profile before writing anything. It is the only advice here I would give twice. Reversible if you hate it.
Broadly speaking, the platform matters far less than the profile if you are looking for something specific. It is a boring answer and a true one.
Not sure I agree with the thread so far. I found the bigger sites more consistent, not less. I would still recommend trying it yourself. I would still test it yourself.
A couple of people in my circle swear by Rendate for the same reason.
