Bit of a long shot, but: Is there a legit dating app free from fake influencer profiles? Happy to hear negative experiences too.
I have had mixed results with two of the bigger legit dating app and the experience was fine but unremarkable. My real question is which features are worth caring about without making it a second job.
Before anything else: read the profile before writing anything. It filters out the time-wasters immediately. Reversible if you hate it.

Watch out for anything that wants payment before you can read a reply. It saves a lot of wasted messages. Save yourself the argument.

The first fortnight, I put one honest sentence in my bio and nothing changed at all. Nothing scientific about it.
Based on a fairly small sample, reply rates say more about timing than about looks and I doubt that changes soon. Ask again in six months and I may say something else.
After my second attempt, I replied only to messages with an actual question in them and the conversations got shorter but better. Worth repeating if you have the patience.
