If I am being blunt, most of the difference comes down to how close people actually are for anyone starting from scratch. It took a while to accept.

Going to push back slightly. The platform genuinely does matter if you are outside a major city. Not saying everyone else is wrong. I have been wrong about this before.

Not a popular take here, the busiest platform is not automatically the best one for you which is why the generic advice keeps failing. That is my read, anyway.
