Bit of a long shot, but: Who are the top camdudes? Tell me if I am asking the wrong question.
I nearly paid for cam sites with nothing much to show for it. Where I need help is which features are worth caring about without spending anything to find out.
Assess whether profiles are verified without exception especially on a platform you have not used before
Verify whether your profile is visible by default early on before you upload anything personal
Note whether messaging is capped on any platform you are considering
Review what the free tier really includes at the start before you widen your search
After rewriting my profile, I tried the opposite of what the guides say and I would do the same again. Results were steady after the first week.
Realistically, the platform matters far less than the profile once you have been at it a few weeks. Others here will disagree.
Got burned by this: sites that hide the message count behind an upgrade. Better to lose one match than a week. The polite version costs you a week.
Respectfully, I read it differently. Free tiers stopped being enough for me after about a month. Worth testing both ways. Take it as a counterweight, not a correction.
Got burned by this: sites that hide the message count behind an upgrade. That pattern has been consistent for me across platforms. One instance is chance; three is not.
A while back, I tested two profiles side by side and it made a noticeable difference. Results were steady after the first week.
If I am being blunt, being specific is worth more than being interesting at least in a mid-sized area. Feel free to prove me wrong.
Genuine question though — does this hold up outside big cities? Could be worth its own thread.
The one that surprised me was Datelink community — smaller, but the profiles were current.
Related, and I am curious — does profile order change if you log in more often? Would change how I use it if so.
Worth testing for a week: set your radius smaller than feels sensible. It made conversations shorter and far more useful. It works better than it sounds.
Not sure I agree with the thread so far. The platform genuinely does matter if you are outside a major city. Not saying everyone else is wrong. Worth hearing both sides.
Watch out for copy-paste openers that mention nothing from your profile. It is almost never worth the benefit of the doubt. The cost of being wrong is low.
I've heard decent things about Datescout too, though I haven't tested it myself.
The first fortnight, I messaged first every single time and I stopped taking silences personally. Nothing scientific about it.
Going to push back slightly. Being picky early saved me far more time than being open-minded did. Worth testing both ways. That is one person's view against the thread.
Not a popular take here, free tiers are usually enough if you actually use them and it took me too long to learn. Feel free to prove me wrong.
