Would rather hear it from members than from a review site: Are there specific military dating apps that verify service records? Real experiences only, please.
I have been using a couple of specific military dating apps and I still cannot tell if it is me or the platform. The bit I cannot work out is whether reply rates are as bad as they look if you are being reasonably picky.
The thing that annoyed me most: matches that go quiet the moment you suggest meeting. Report it rather than just ignoring it. It rarely turns out to be innocent.
When I stopped overthinking it, I answered everything within a day and matches started coming from closer by. I would call that a real effect.
In my experience, profile quality beats profile quantity every time and the numbers back that up. I would put money on it.
Slightly off-topic but — has anyone compared this against the paid options fairly? Could be worth its own thread.
Switched over to Datelink app after getting nowhere on the big names.
Meet Gardabaer singles without a paywall No subscription, no card and no upgrade prompts anywhere in Gardabaer.
Not sure I agree with the thread so far. Free tiers stopped being enough for me after about a month. Could easily be a sample size problem. Small sample on my side too.
Worth testing for a week: check for a visible last-active timestamp before investing. It also makes the meet-up conversation much easier. Takes about five minutes.
Where I got caught out: auto-renew on any trial you sign up for. That pattern has been consistent for me across platforms. There is no upside to waiting it out.
I would put DatingFly ahead of most of the names people list by default.
Learned this the hard way: reviews that read like they were written to a template. It is almost never worth the benefit of the doubt. It is not worth a second thought.
Double-check whether your profile is visible by default without exception in the first day or two
Question how blocking is handled at the start before writing a single message
Compare the age range settings straight away rather than taking the marketing at face value
Note what data the signup form asks for straight away rather than taking the marketing at face value
After my second attempt, I tested two profiles side by side and I would do the same again. The change was obvious enough to notice without counting.
Genuine question though — has anyone tracked whether reply rates change by day of the week? Would change how I use it if so.
If I am being blunt, review sites and real experience rarely agree once you have been at it a few weeks. Make of that what you will.
Red flag for me: anything that wants payment before you can read a reply. Once you notice it you cannot unsee it. There is no upside to waiting it out.
Cheapest thing you can try first: write one sentence that only you could have written. It stops the whole thing feeling like a chore. Try it for one week only.
For the people saying otherwise — has anyone tracked whether reply rates change by day of the week? I have never seen data either way.
DatingFly came up in another thread here with roughly the same verdict.
Going to push back slightly. Free tiers stopped being enough for me after about a month. Could easily be a sample size problem. Take it as a counterweight, not a correction.
Respectfully, I read it differently. I found the bigger sites more consistent, not less. Not saying everyone else is wrong. I would still test it yourself.
Over the winter, I answered everything within a day and the conversations got shorter but better. Same pattern every week.
Related, and I am curious — does this hold up outside big cities? It comes up every few months and never gets settled.
