Bit of a long shot, but: Can we list the best free dating sites that don't have hidden fees? Not looking for a sales pitch.
I stopped bothering with the usual free dating sites and the results were underwhelming. The part that matters to me is how you handle it when a conversation just stops before committing any real time to it.
Adding a counterpoint. I found the bigger sites more consistent, not less. Could easily be a sample size problem. Open to changing my mind on it.
Different experience here. Photos did more for me than anything I wrote. Might just be my area. I might be the exception.
Realistically, the busiest platform is not automatically the best one for you and it took me too long to learn. That is the short version.

If nothing else, do this: reply to the thing they actually said. It stops the whole thing feeling like a chore. Nothing else on this list matters as much.

That has not been my experience at all. Free tiers stopped being enough for me after about a month. Take that with the usual caveats. Take it as a counterweight, not a correction.
