How can you tell which ones are legit dating apps before you pay?

This came up in a conversation last week and neither of us knew: How can you tell which ones are legit dating apps before you pay? Interested in what actually worked, not marketing copy.

I have been comparing whichever are legit dating apps came up first and the results were underwhelming. The bit I cannot work out is how you handle it when a conversation just stops when you have limited time in the evenings.

• Review the age range settings up front before you upload anything personal
• Work out whether messaging is capped every time in the first day or two
• Check how reporting actually works properly if you plan to use it long-term

Respectfully, I read it differently. I never once had a problem the community here warns about. Happy to be an outlier on that. Open to changing my mind on it.

When I first started, I answered everything within a day and honestly it was the only thing that helped. It was the only variable I changed.

If you want a shortcut: stop treating it like a numbers game. You will know within a week whether it works for you. You will not need a second attempt.

I keep a second profile on Flurrydate and it pulls a different crowd entirely.

Unpopular opinion maybe, most of the difference comes down to how close people actually are and it took me too long to learn. That is where I have landed.

The advice I wish I had: give any new platform a fortnight before judging it. You will know within a week whether it works for you. Zero cost to test it.

Worth a look at the Rendate app if your area is thin on the usual platforms.

After rewriting my profile, I dropped every conversation that stalled twice and nothing changed at all. I would call that a real effect.
