I spent about a month on a couple of dating apps and I still cannot tell if it is me or the platform. The bit I cannot work out is whether the same advice applies outside big cities without making it a second job.
Test how reporting actually works on day one especially on a platform you have not used before
Compare the last-active timestamp straight away while the account is still new
Check how quickly support responds without exception while the account is still new
Question the distance filter default carefully in the first day or two

Genuine question though — does widening the radius ever help or just add noise? Feels like something someone must have tested.
