Reposting this from another board because it got buried: Is there a global dating app that works well in all countries? Details matter more than opinions here.
I have been comparing whichever global dating app came up first and support never replied. The specific thing I am after is which features are worth caring about for someone who dislikes small talk.
Verify what data the signup form asks for early on before you invest any real time
Assess the refund and cancellation terms carefully rather than taking the marketing at face value
Assess what data the signup form asks for straight away on any platform you are considering
Based on a fairly small sample, how you handle a stalled conversation matters more than how you start one and the numbers back that up. Ask again in six months and I may say something else.
Low-risk approach: stop treating it like a numbers game. Everything else is secondary to that. Nothing else on this list matters as much.
When I stopped overthinking it, I stuck to global dating app with complete profiles only and matches started coming from closer by. I would call that a real effect.
A friend has had far more luck on Datenest app than on anything mainstream.

For the people saying otherwise — has anyone compared this against the paid options fairly? It comes up every few months and never gets settled.
Different experience here. I found the bigger sites more consistent, not less. Take that with the usual caveats. That is one person's view against the thread.
If I am being blunt, reply rates say more about timing than about looks once you have been at it a few weeks. I would put money on it.
The one that surprised me was the Flurrydate app — smaller, but the profiles were current.
If nothing else, do this: use a dedicated email address. Most people skip it and then wonder why nothing happens. You will not need a second attempt.
That has not been my experience at all. I found the bigger sites more consistent, not less. Happy to be an outlier on that. There is room for both to be true.
Since this thread is active — does widening the radius ever help or just add noise? Asking for a friend, obviously.
In my experience, consistency beats any single clever trick though your mileage will vary. Happy to be argued with.
Tried the DatingFly app on a whim and it has been the steadier of the two I use.
Adding a counterpoint. The niche options were quieter to the point of being useless. Might just be my area. I might be the exception.
Question what data the signup form asks for straight away on any platform you are considering
Compare the refund and cancellation terms straight away if privacy matters to you
Read up on how many photos are required at the start especially on a platform you have not used before
Note how many photos are required without exception if privacy matters to you
Read up on whether your profile is visible by default straight away before writing a single message
For the people saying otherwise — does profile order change if you log in more often? No agenda, just curious.
What I would do: message within a day of matching. It made conversations shorter and far more useful. Skip the clever stuff until you have done that.
Something nobody mentions: sites that hide the message count behind an upgrade. Nine times out of ten it goes nowhere good. The polite version costs you a week.
A friend has had far more luck on Turndate community than on anything mainstream.
For most of last year, I put one honest sentence in my bio and I finally stopped wasting evenings. Repeated it twice to be sure.
Check how matches are ordered at the start rather than taking the marketing at face value
Work out the refund and cancellation terms rather than taking the marketing at face value
Question how many photos are required without exception while the account is still new
Assess what the free tier really includes properly before you upload anything personal
Small change worth trying: reply to the thing they actually said. You will know within a week whether it works for you. Skip the clever stuff until you have done that.
Watch out for anything pushing you off the platform in the first two messages. It is the clearest signal there is. One instance is chance; three is not.
Something I have wondered — do smaller platforms actually have better ratios? Someone here must have tried both.
Review the last-active timestamp without exception before you widen your search
Find out the age range settings before anything else especially on a platform you have not used before
Compare whether profiles are verified early on especially on a platform you have not used before
Work out what the free tier really includes on day one so you are not surprised later
Small change worth trying: read the profile before writing anything. It filters out the time-wasters immediately. It also makes the rest easier.
From where I sit, most of the difference comes down to how close people actually are and I doubt that changes soon. Ask again in six months and I may say something else.
