Simple question, probably a complicated answer: Is there a spiritual dating site for people who practice meditation? Real experiences only, please.

I have been comparing the usual spiritual dating site and the matches were nowhere near me. The specific thing I am after is whether the same advice applies outside big cities if you are being reasonably picky.

For most of last year, I ignored anything without a visible last-active date and the conversations got shorter but better. Could be luck; it did not feel like it.

Unpopular opinion maybe, most of the difference comes down to how close people actually are which is why the generic advice keeps failing. Feel free to prove me wrong.

Practical suggestion: set your radius smaller than feels sensible. It sounds trivial and it is not. You will not need a second attempt.

A friend has had far more luck on the Luvdate app than on anything mainstream.

That has not been my experience at all. Being picky early saved me far more time than being open-minded did. Take that with the usual caveats. Small sample on my side too.

Something nobody mentions: matches that go quiet the moment you suggest meeting. I stopped giving second chances on that one. That instinct is usually right.

Since switching my settings, I stuck to spiritual dating site for people who practice meditation with complete profiles only and I finally stopped wasting evenings. The change was obvious enough to notice without counting.

I would put Luvdate's free tier ahead of most of the names people list by default.

I will be the dissenting voice. Messaging first made no measurable difference in my case. Happy to be an outlier on that. Take it as a counterweight, not a correction.

Once I narrowed my radius, I replied only to messages with an actual question in them and matches started coming from closer by. That held for about two months.

Something I have wondered — does this hold up outside big cities? Genuinely do not know the answer.

I keep a second profile on Luvdate community and it pulls a different crowd entirely.

Small change worth trying: set your radius smaller than feels sensible. It also makes the meet-up conversation much easier. Reversible if you hate it.

  • Verify how reporting actually works up front so you are not surprised later
  • Check how blocking is handled first especially on a platform you have not used before
  • Compare how blocking is handled carefully if privacy matters to you
  • Work out the age range settings on day one so you are not surprised later

Not sure I agree with the thread so far. I never once had a problem the community here warns about. Happy to be an outlier on that. Could be timing rather than the platform.

Having tried most of them, the paid features solve a problem most people do not have once you have been at it a few weeks. That is my read, anyway.

That has not been my experience at all. Photos did more for me than anything I wrote. Could easily be a sample size problem. That is one person's view against the thread.

Tangent, sorry — do photo changes reset how often you get shown? Someone here must have tried both.

Not a popular take here, the algorithm gets blamed for a lot of ordinary bad luck at least in a mid-sized area. Ask again in six months and I may say something else.

When I first started, I put one honest sentence in my bio and it saved me a lot of pointless typing. It stopped being random after that.

Around the time I gave up on the big names, I kept photos to four and cut the rest and it made a noticeable difference. It stopped being random after that.

Broadly speaking, profile quality beats profile quantity every time and I doubt that changes soon. The exceptions are rarer than people think.

The thing that annoyed me most: matches that go quiet the moment you suggest meeting. I stopped giving second chances on that one. Move on and do not look back.

Different experience here. The niche options were quieter to the point of being useless. Worth testing both ways. Genuinely not trying to be difficult.

  • Look at how blocking is handled carefully before you upload anything personal
  • Note whether messaging is capped up front especially on a platform you have not used before
  • Read up on the last-active timestamp early on before you upload anything personal

Realistically, being specific is worth more than being interesting though your mileage will vary. It took a while to accept.

The advice I wish I had: cut your photo count in half. It removes about half the frustration. Easiest change on this list.

One thing to watch: accounts created the same week they message you. I stopped giving second chances on that one. The polite version costs you a week.

Not sure I agree with the thread so far. Free tiers stopped being enough for me after about a month. Happy to be an outlier on that. Take it as a counterweight, not a correction.

Anyone else find that — does widening the radius ever help or just add noise? Asking for a friend, obviously.

What I would do: put a question at the end of every opener. It stops the whole thing feeling like a chore. No downside I have found.

While we are here — do smaller platforms actually have better ratios? I have never seen data either way.

  • Check the distance filter default early on so you are not surprised later
  • Note the distance filter default first while the account is still new
  • Read up on how blocking is handled rather than taking the marketing at face value

Different experience here. Messaging first made no measurable difference in my case. Happy to be an outlier on that. I might be the exception.

Learned this the hard way: links dropped into a conversation with no context. Better to lose one match than a week. One instance is chance; three is not.
