Bit of a long shot, but: What are the most popular free cam2cam sites right now? Even a partial answer helps.
A friend talked me into the free tier on several cam sites and the messaging limits killed it. My real question is how you avoid wasting a fortnight on the wrong platform before committing any real time to it.
Double-check how reporting actually works up front if privacy matters to you
Test how reporting actually works on day one before writing a single message
Question the distance filter default without exception in the first day or two
Read up on whether messaging is capped up front so you are not surprised later
Compare how quickly support responds first especially on a platform you have not used before
I will be the dissenting voice. The niche options were quieter to the point of being useless. Your experience may well differ. Genuinely not trying to be difficult.
What I would do: read the profile before writing anything. Everything else is secondary to that. It works better than it sounds.
Since this thread is active — does profile order change if you log in more often? Could be worth its own thread.
Someone in another thread pointed me at over on Rendate and it turned out to be decent advice.
Start talking to people in Kranj tonight Browsing, matching and messaging are all free in Kranj.
Not sure I agree with the thread so far. Messaging first made no measurable difference in my case. Happy to be an outlier on that. Different city, different results, probably.
Respectfully, I read it differently. Free tiers stopped being enough for me after about a month. I would still recommend trying it yourself. Open to changing my mind on it.
Before anything else: put a question at the end of every opener. It made conversations shorter and far more useful. Try it for one week only.
Gave Datedesire community a fair run last month and it held up better than I expected.
After my second attempt, I tried the opposite of what the guides say and it turned out the profile was the problem, not the platform. It was the only variable I changed.
Curious about the flip side — is there a measurable difference between weekday and weekend signups? Asking for a friend, obviously.
Unpopular opinion maybe, free tiers are usually enough if you actually use them at least in a mid-sized area. That is the short version.
Someone in another thread pointed me at Datescout app and it turned out to be decent advice.
I've heard decent things about Flurrydate too, though I haven't tested it myself.
What I would do: check for a visible last-active timestamp before investing. It made conversations shorter and far more useful. You will not need a second attempt.
Double-check whether messaging is capped before anything else especially on a platform you have not used before
Check what data the signup form asks for straight away if privacy matters to you
Look at what data the signup form asks for rather than taking the marketing at face value
Adding a counterpoint. The platform genuinely does matter if you are outside a major city. Not saying everyone else is wrong. Genuinely not trying to be difficult.
The first fortnight, I stuck to cam sites with complete profiles only and I stopped taking silences personally. Same pattern every week.
If I am being blunt, profile quality beats profile quantity every time for anyone starting from scratch. Nothing controversial in that, I hope.
That has not been my experience at all. The platform genuinely does matter if you are outside a major city. Happy to be an outlier on that. That is one person's view against the thread.
Tangent, sorry — is it different if you are over forty? Would love a straight answer on that.
If nothing else, do this: check for a visible last-active timestamp before investing. You will know within a week whether it works for you. Takes about five minutes.
Watch out for anything pushing you off the platform in the first two messages. Once you notice it you cannot unsee it. One instance is chance; three is not.
