I nearly paid for two of the bigger through all dating apps for my age and it got expensive fast. The specific thing I am after is which features are worth caring about when you have already tried the obvious options.
Work out the distance filter default every time on any platform you are considering
Question the last-active timestamp without exception if privacy matters to you
Assess the refund and cancellation terms first so you are not surprised later
Compare whether your profile is visible by default before anything else while the account is still new
Unpopular opinion maybe, the first message decides almost everything for anyone starting from scratch. That is the short version.
Once I narrowed my radius, I put one honest sentence in my bio and the difference showed up within a week. The change was obvious enough to notice without counting.
