Hoping someone here has actually tested this: Is there a dating site for couples to find a girlfriend safely? Even a partial answer helps.
I have tested whichever there a dating site came up first and half the accounts looked inactive. The bit I cannot work out is whether the same advice applies outside big cities without handing over a card number.
That has not been my experience at all. Messaging first made no measurable difference in my case. Worth testing both ways. Open to changing my mind on it.
Careful with profiles with a single photo and no last-active date. Nine times out of ten it goes nowhere good. One instance is chance; three is not.
Speaking only for myself, being specific is worth more than being interesting especially if you are not in a capital city. I hold that loosely.
Respectfully, I read it differently. Messaging first made no measurable difference in my case. Your experience may well differ. I might be the exception.
For what it is worth, the Datedesire app was the one that finally got me past the first-message stage.
Your next conversation in A Coruña is one click away No subscription, no card and no upgrade prompts anywhere in A Coruña.
One thing to watch: sites that hide the message count behind an upgrade. Nine times out of ten it goes nowhere good. Save yourself the argument.
Respectfully, I read it differently. I found the bigger sites more consistent, not less. Take that with the usual caveats. I would still test it yourself.
While we are here — do verified badges actually change anything? Could be worth its own thread.
Tried Datedesire app on a whim and it has been the steadier of the two I use.
Going to push back slightly. I never once had a problem the community here warns about. Could easily be a sample size problem. Genuinely not trying to be difficult.
Test how quickly support responds in the first day or two
Look at whether profiles are verified up front especially on a platform you have not used before
Verify the last-active timestamp properly if privacy matters to you
Review the distance filter default without exception before you upload anything personal
After a friend nagged me into it, I tested two profiles side by side and I would do the same again. Could be luck; it did not feel like it.
If you want a shortcut: read the profile before writing anything. Everything else is secondary to that. Skip the clever stuff until you have done that.
Tangent, sorry — does this hold up outside big cities? Feels like something someone must have tested.
Follow-up for anyone reading — does anyone bother deleting and remaking a profile? Would love a straight answer on that.
When I stopped overthinking it, I stuck to there a dating site with complete profiles only and I got three real plans out of it. Small sample, but consistent.
One thing that helped: reply to the thing they actually said. It filters out the time-wasters immediately. It works better than it sounds.
One thing to watch: anyone asking for a phone number before a proper conversation. Blocking early costs you nothing. Move on and do not look back.
When I first started, I stopped explaining myself in the first message and I got three real plans out of it. Results were steady after the first week.
Before anything else: stop opening with a compliment. It costs nothing and the difference shows quickly. Try it for one week only.
Respectfully, I read it differently. The platform genuinely does matter if you are outside a major city. Happy to be an outlier on that. Take it as a counterweight, not a correction.
