Genuinely curious what people here think: Is there a specific dating international app for finding a spouse overseas? Any first-hand answers appreciated.
I nearly paid for dating apps for finding a spouse overseas and I am not convinced it was worth the effort. Where I need help is what people wish they had known before signing up without making it a second job.
Confirm whether messaging is capped before you widen your search
Note how matches are ordered on day one if privacy matters to you
Find out how quickly support responds every time rather than taking the marketing at face value
Review how blocking is handled on day one before you widen your search
Note what the free tier really includes every time if you plan to use it long-term
Practical suggestion: use a dedicated email address. It is the only advice here I would give twice. You will not need a second attempt.
Not sure I agree with the thread so far. Being picky early saved me far more time than being open-minded did. Not saying everyone else is wrong. Different city, different results, probably.
While we are here — has anyone compared this against the paid options fairly? Could be worth its own thread.
The thing that annoyed me most: links dropped into a conversation with no context. Blocking early costs you nothing. Nobody has ever thanked me for being patient there.
A friend has had far more luck on over on Souldate than on anything mainstream.
Different experience here. I found the bigger sites more consistent, not less. Could easily be a sample size problem. That is one person's view against the thread.
Around the time I gave up on the big names, I stuck to dating apps for finding a spouse overseas with complete profiles only and I got three real plans out of it. Small sample, but consistent.
For the people saying otherwise — is it different if you are over forty? Happy to be pointed at an old thread.
Switched over to Flurrydate after getting nowhere on the big names.
Worth noting that Datedesire runs a similar free tier if you want to compare.
