What's the etiquette for skipping someone on a gay chat roulette dirty site?

This came up in conversation with a friend and neither of us really knew the answer. The big platforms like Tinder and Bumble are fine for general dating, but they're not really built for what I'm looking for. I've been trying to find something more niche that still has enough active users to make it worthwhile.

  • Check if the platform has real ID or email verification
  • Use a throwaway email when registering to protect your inbox
  • Start on the free tier to test member quality before upgrading

Verification is everything. If a site doesn't verify emails or IDs, expect a lot of fake profiles. If you haven't looked at Datewander yet, it's worth a few minutes. I've had better luck there than on most of the apps.

Sites like datebound.site are worth checking out if you haven't. Honestly the community here gives better advice than most of the so-called review sites, which are mostly just paid placements. Real user experience is the only thing worth reading.

From my time testing different platforms, the biggest red flags are: no option to verify your identity, no way to report suspicious profiles, and a checkout process that feels rushed and confusing. Any of those and I close the tab immediately.

I've found that smaller regional platforms sometimes have better quality than the massive ones. I know a lot of people stick with Tinder or Bumble but I switched to Datebie a while back and haven't looked back.

Sites like flurrydate.online are worth checking out if you haven't. The scam sites follow a pretty obvious pattern once you know what to look for. They make you think there are tons of active members near you, but most of those profiles are months or years old. The real members are buried under layers of fakes.

Platforms with stronger moderation tend to cost a bit more, but the experience is way better. You're basically paying for quality control at that point.

Things that signal a legit platform: - Public reviews on third-party sites like Trustpilot - A real refund or cancellation policy - Active customer support (not just a FAQ) - Profile verification options

Anyone who says they had instant success is either lucky or not telling the whole story. I know a lot of people stick with Tinder or Bumble but I switched to Ezhookups a while back and haven't looked back.
