Trying to get a straight answer on this: What are the absolutely best dating apps for 30s professionals? Recent experience preferred.

I went in optimistic about whichever absolutely best dating apps came up first and I am not convinced it was worth the effort. What I actually want to know is whether the free option is genuinely usable when you have limited time in the evenings.

Speaking only for myself, the first message decides almost everything unless you have unusually niche requirements. Feel free to prove me wrong.

Genuine question though — is it worth keeping profiles on two platforms at once? No agenda, just curious.

I will be the dissenting voice. Being picky early saved me far more time than being open-minded did. Take that with the usual caveats. Just adding another data point.

A friend has had far more luck on over on Datebie than on anything mainstream.

Before anything else: stop treating it like a numbers game. It removes about half the frustration. No downside I have found.

Adding a counterpoint. Photos did more for me than anything I wrote. I would still recommend trying it yourself. Just adding another data point.

Having tried most of them, the busiest platform is not automatically the best one for you though your mileage will vary. Others here will disagree.

Ended up spending most of my time on ezhookups.online and the reply rate was noticeably better.

Honestly, the paid features solve a problem most people do not have once you have been at it a few weeks. I would put money on it.

Small change worth trying: stop opening with a compliment. That one change fixed most of my problems. Skip the clever stuff until you have done that.

Mild warning: accounts created the same week they message you. Blocking early costs you nothing. One instance is chance; three is not.

Between the free options I tested, rendate.site had the least aggressive upsell.

Not sure I agree with the thread so far. I never once had a problem the community here warns about. Your experience may well differ. Just adding another data point.

Earlier this year, I ignored anything without a visible last-active date and the quality improved more than the quantity. I tracked it loosely and the trend was clear.

Slightly off-topic but — does widening the radius ever help or just add noise? Might just be me overthinking it.

Mild warning: matches that go quiet the moment you suggest meeting. Report it rather than just ignoring it. One instance is chance; three is not.

Someone in another thread pointed me at Luvdate app and it turned out to be decent advice.

Slightly off-topic but — is it worth keeping profiles on two platforms at once? Happy to be pointed at an old thread.

For most of last year, I tested two profiles side by side and matches started coming from closer by. That held for about two months.

Careful with matches that go quiet the moment you suggest meeting. Blocking early costs you nothing. One instance is chance; three is not.

What I would do: cut your photo count in half. It stops the whole thing feeling like a chore. You will not need a second attempt.

Worth noting that Datelink runs a similar free tier if you want to compare.

Piggybacking on that — does this hold up outside big cities? Could be worth its own thread.

Worth flagging: matches that go quiet the moment you suggest meeting. Report it rather than just ignoring it. It is not worth a second thought.

Not sure I agree with the thread so far. I never once had a problem the community here warns about. I would still recommend trying it yourself. Just adding another data point.

Small change worth trying: keep the first meet under an hour. Most people skip it and then wonder why nothing happens. Skip the clever stuff until you have done that.

Keep an eye on anything that wants payment before you can read a reply. Blocking early costs you nothing. That instinct is usually right.

Since switching my settings, I dropped every conversation that stalled twice and I got three real plans out of it. It stopped being random after that.

Worth asking — has anyone tracked whether reply rates change by day of the week? Someone here must have tried both.
